Kingco Champions X 2

Congratulations to the boys varsity team who started the day by winning the Kingco 4A League Championships followed an hour later with the girls varsity team winning the 4A Girls League Championship title.

In addition to winning league championships, both varsity teams earned the regular season dual meet titles. Congratulations on showing great consistency throughout the season!

All-Kingco First Team Honors went to Luke George and Sam Griffith for the boys team.

For the girls, All-Kingco First Team Honors were earned by Julia David-Smith, Sami Corman, Kenna Clawson and Andie Kolasinski. Second Team Honors went to Lauren Haas and Jenna Heesacker.

A great day of racing in the mud and rain for the entire team!

Issaquah, Newport at Skyline

On a day that had a little rain, sun, clouds and hail many of the Issaquah athletes came out to run hard at the last tri-meet of the season. Skyline hosted us with a new version of their old course. 

The boys team had their first loss of the season to school district rival, Skyline. They completed their dual meet season with a 7 win and 1 loss record. The girls team won again,ending their dual meet season with a perfect 8 and 0 record. Congratulations to the girls for their Kingco Dual Meet Championship!

Hole in the Wall Invitational

The final invitational of the season took place today at Lakewood High School in Arlington. It was another great day for Issaquah runners following their very strong performances at last week’s Twilight Invitational. Thirty of the forty-five athletes competing had lifetime or season personal records. A few California schools added to the traditional Oregon and Washington schools which made for a great day of racing.

The boys frosh/soph race saw top 20 finishes from Jasper Fuhs (5th), Sam Rosenkranz (13th), Nic Chin (15th) and Ian Streams (19th). As a team, they placed 3rd.

The JV boys team placed 5th out of 33 teams. The three boys earning top 20 finishes were Jenner Sapienza (2nd), Nick Rodgers (7th) and Alex Darragh (13th).

The Varsity boys race ended the day with their 7th place team finish out of 36. Luke George led the boys team with his 4th place finish in a lifetime PR followed by Sam Griffith in 17th who also earned a lifetime pr.

Jenna Heesacker won the jv girls race in a lifetime PR. Ella McKillop placed a strong third to lead the JV girls team to their 3rd place finish.

The 38 school varsity girls race saw Issaquah win their 3rd invitational of the year, outscoring second place Camas by 67 points. Led by Sami Corman (4th), Julia David-Smith (5th), Kenna Clawson (10th), Andie Kolasinski (26th) and Lauren Haas (29th) the girls average team time was an outstanding 18:24 with the top 5 girls under 19:00 for the first time in school history.

Bothell, North Creek at Issaquah

Issaquah Boys and Girls teams win their respective meets

On a perfect day at Issaquah High School the boys and girls varsity teams were victorious over two Northshore schools. North Creek is a new school in Kingco this year.

Luke George tied the course record with a time of 16:11. The record he tied was from last year when Nate Pendleton of Eastlake ran the same time.


Twilight XC Invitational

The Issaquah Eagles Cross Country Team had an outstanding day with 43 of 51 athletes achieving lifetime or season personal records. What an incredible day! For the boys varsity team Luke George finished 3rd overall in a lifetime best while Kenna Clawson led the girls team finishing in 8th place overall with her lifetime best! Way to go Luke and Kenna!

In the boys team scoring, the various divisions and team place are as follows:

Varsity- 6th out of 33,

Jr./Sr. JV-2nd out of 33

Fr./So JV-4th out of 33

Serious Open-1st out of 23

Bellevue XC Invitational

Today’s invitational at Lake Sammamish State Park was a weather-perfect day. We saw some great team and individual performances among Issaquah athletes competing against 40+ schools from around the state.

Issaquah Eagles finishing in the top 20 overall are as follows:

For the boys team, Luke George placed 7th while the girls team had 4 top 20 finishes with Julia David-Smith in 1st, Sami Corman 4th, Kenna Clawson 5th and Andie Kolasinski 17th.

Varsity Team Scoring

The girls team came away as Bellevue Invite Champions. Issaquah scored 30 points followed by Lewis and Clark with 65, South Kitsap with 131, Kamiakin with 135 and Holy Names with 139 points. Way to go girls by keeping your invitational streak alive!

The boys team finished in a strong 4th place with 82 points behind the winning Kamiakin team with 20 points, Eisenhower with 68 points, Tahoma with 81points and Glacier Peak rounding out the top 5 with 98 points. Great job guys with your solid races!

JV Teams

In addition to the varsity teams, the JV Boys team placed 5th, the Boys 23:30+ Open Race team was 2nd and the Boys under 23:30 Open Race team finished 1st.

Way to go Eagles and have fun at Homecoming tonight!
