MEET RECAP: Shoreline Invitational

Travelling to Shoreline stadium for the first time this season, our TEAM took on what is historically one of the most competitive meets of the regular season. In that pressure, many Issaquah Eagles created performance diamonds. As a result, we saw 16 PRs and 13 trips to the medal stand. Medal winning performances detailed below:

  • Our boy’s and girl’s DMR of Benjamin Konopka, Greyson Pike, Elliot McIntosh, Alex Yahn (10:56.32) and Rachel Dennie, Kamarrie Spencer, Daniela Jaeschke, and Riley Eberhardt (13:34.90) finished 2nd and 6th, respectively.
  • Senior Shanthi Hall (16.10, PR) ran to a 4th place overall while racing in the 2nd fastest heat.
  • Our very own Domfo Abekah (35’3.5″) and Benjamin LaFramboise (41’5.5″) both leapt to new PR’s in the triple jump, both earning themselves 2nd and 8th place, respectively.
  • Freshman Clara Michael (5:39.23) made a heroic effort after being tripped 350m into the girl’s freshman 1600m race, finishing 7th overall.
  • Sophomore Toren Garcia ran to an 8th place finish in the 300m hurdles in a near-best time of 41.14.
  • Senior Kate Yahn (2:18.12, PR) and sophomore Sena Pittman (2:19.70, PR) went 1-2 in the girl’s 800m, taking down a great field and running a great team race.
  • Sophomore Connor Rickey (9:25.36, PR) ran the 3200m for 4th overall.
  • Senior Kate Yahn (11:05.18) doubled back from the 800m in the 3200m and finished 3rd overall.
