One of the most diversely talented IHS females in cross country and track, Kelley was equally skilled in the shorter track distances as she was for 3 miles in cross country. Although she missed the entire cross country post season her junior year, Kelley put up some stellar stats. She began as a 9th-grader finishing 4th in KingCo, 4th in districts, and 11th in state. She then followed that up as a sophomore by going 10th in KingCo, 10th in district, and 12th in state to become the first IHS girl to finish in the top 12 at state twice.

In track, Kelley was mainly a 400m/800m performer, never running the 3200m and running the 1600m just a few times. Undertaking the hardest double in track as a 10th-grader, she won a league title in the 400m and was 3rd in the 800m going from there to finish 2nd in district and 2nd in state in the 800m. As a junior, she was league champ in the 800m setting the meet record on her way to finishing 5th in state, becoming the first IHS girl to finish in the top 5 at state twice in an event longer than 400m.
