The most recent graduate of our inaugural female hall of fame inductees, Kate Bradshaw made KingCo her personal training ground for much of her IHS career. A three-time Triple-Crown winner, Kate finished in the top three in 10 of the 12 league championship races she competed in on her way to racking up 11 individual league and district titles. She qualified individually to 12 district meets and only finished worse than 6th in two of those races. In cross country, she won league and district titles as both a freshman and sophomore (winning by 29 seconds or more each time) on her way to an 11th-place finish as a freshman and a 2nd-place finish as a sophomore at state. Kate’s 2nd-place finish at state placed her 3rd overall that year across all classifications and set IHS records for race place, overall place, and fastest Sun Willows course time. As a junior and senior, she was 3rd in KingCo, top 6 in district, and top 25 in state both years. She is the only girl in program history with three top-12 finishes at state, earning a place on the awards stand all three years.

In track, Kate dominated the 1600m and 3200m distances, finishing 1st or 2nd in six of eight league finals and in the top three in five of eight district finals. A five-time state track qualifier, she finished in the top 10 all five times and in the top four three times. Kate’s 1996 mark in the 3200m was less than four seconds from Deanna Coleman’s school record and is 19 seconds faster than the 3rd-best IHS time. Her time ranks her in the top 65 in state history and is # 7 in state history for 9th graders.
