Tracy has free tickets and will bring them to the Awards banquet.

It’s that time of year! Track season is in full swing, and golden tickets have been sent to the nation’s top high school track athletes. Brooks will host the annual PR Invite on June 17th at Shoreline Stadium in Seattle!   The first event will kick-off at 1:30 p.m. PST on the 17th.

The meet will have a DJ, food trucks, and t-shirts and swag for the first 1,000 attendees.  If you missed last year’s PR Invite, check out the highlights here.

 

 

State State State – Meet info

Congratulations to the boys and girls that qualified to the penultimate event of their high school careers. It is a significant accomplishment since qualifying meant that they had to be finish in the top two in the finals of the district meet or achieve a qualifying standard for their event.

Athletes:

Thursday: Athletes will be excused from class at 12:30 PM. Bus will leave from the high school at 12:45 PM

Friday: Athletes will be excused from school for the day. Bus leaves from the high school at 7:45 AM.

Saturday: The bus leaves from the high school at 7:45 AM.

Athletes will be provided meal stipend, but if they feel they will need more they should bring some.  Food sources are sort of limited at the meet with concession stand type foods.

SPECTATOR PARKING
All spectators are allowed to park in the parking lots surrounding the school and the grass parking lot off of Verde Street (this is the street on the visitor’s side [eastside] of the stadium). Please look for event parking signage. The WIAA is not responsible for vandalism or break-in to automobiles. Please leave no items of value in your car, i.e. wallets, purses, cameras,radios, etc.

Day 1 District Results

Both the boys and the girls teams competed very well on Day 1, with several earning a spot to the State meet next weekend in Tacoma.  The top two performers in each event qualify for the State meet.  The following athletes have extended their season for another week:

Joey Jensen – 1st place in the shot put (lifetime PR 48’9)

Joe Nelson – 1st place in the triple jump

Luke George – 1st place in the mile (lifetime PR 4:16.51)

Sami Corman – 1st place in the 1600

Nikki Stephens – 1st place in the high jump

Siarfo Abekah – 1st place in the long jump

 

Congratulations to all of those that competed today.

Simon Treppenhauer – 6th place in shot put (lifetime PR by 7 feet, 41’7.5!)

Trent Zent – 4th in javelin

Katie Riley – 4th place in the 1600 (lifetime PR by 12 seconds, 5:05.8!)

Kenna Clawson – 5th place in the 1600 (season PR 5:08.36)

Lauren Haas – 7th place in the 1600

Claire Wilfong – tied for 4th in high jump

Becca Bakony – tied for 7th in high jump

Ellie Grudin – tied for 8th in pole vault

Remember the bus leaves from the back of the stadium at 9am!  Please park in the main parking lot of the school, as the back is reserved for Relay for Life.

Tomorrow, 5/19,  is Day 1 of the Super KingCo (aka District) meet.

Athletes that qualified for Districts (you know who you are), the bus leaves the school at 12:45 p.m.

All athletes (with the exception of those going to state), please bring your washed uniform in a plastic bag with your name on it.
